THE OBJECTIVE

The building of the forum sits in the heart of a spiderweb of sounds, bringing people together. It does so by its different functions. The Aedes forum consists of three sub-spaces, each defined by its use, sound capacity and spatial representation. Our goal is to utilize this to create an interactive and cohesive brand concept that communicates the 3 uses of the forum.

By identifying the three primary roles of the area, we tie in with the interdisciplinary principle that aims to develop a conceptual framework for fostering conversations via sonic dialects. Talk, view, and execute – each zone exemplifies the essence of Aedes.

THE SOLUTION

As part of the graphic design phase, Antonia Contreras and

I created a new concept and direction for this renowned architectural forum located in Berlin Mitte, designed the brand and strategy, and prototyped their website. Our Aedes concept

is formed by 3 main parts: see, speak and do. Each one representing a different function that Aedes offers within its facilities; the forum (speak), the gallery (see) and the architecture workshops (do).

Infusing a modern aesthetic into a confident font, the bends in the emblem reflect the archways of the present establishment's design, functioning also as an allegory to sonic waves.

Employing the forms in components such as signage, patterns and brand correspondence, our objective is to devise an engaging method for attendees to relate with the venue, regardless of their purpose of visit.

As part of this multidisciplinary team, we were awarded with the Best Presentation certificate on behalf of Aedes and our university for a rebranding project that consisted of 3 disciplines: graphic design, architecture and interior design.
